Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University’s origins go back to 1902 when it began as a teaching college. Today it is Western Australia’s second largest university with approximately 23,000 students, including in excess of 3,000 students originating from more than 80 countries. Edith Cowan University is located in Perth, Western Australia, a gateway to Asia.
ECU is a contemporary university providing quality tertiary education for the students of today. We pride ourselves on being supportive, flexible and relevant to the real world. ECU’s Joondalup Campus, one of the university’s two metropolitan campuses, offers state-of-the-art facilities including the landmark Chancellery Building, the Science & Health Building and a multi-million dollar recreation centre.
West Coast Institute of Training
West Coast Institute of Training is a recognised leader in Vocational Education and Training. The College has close links with the local region and is focused on providing a range of industry-relevant courses that have strong employment prospects.
The main campus, a lakeside location in the heart of Joondalup and only a short walk from Joondalup’s rapidly expanding Lakeside Shopping Centre, Train/Bus Station and Central Business District, is home to more than 13,000 students and set amidst birds, kangaroos and colourful native flora. The Joondalup Campus provides real life work experiences via the operational beauty salon, a la carte restaurant and delicatessen operated for and by West Coast Institute of Training students.
The College delivers trades training at Clarkson via The Shed at Brighton and conducts automotive pre-apprenticeship training at a specialised workshop in Wangara. The College also provides in the work-place training throughout the region.
Combined with the development of a Trades Training Centre in Clarkson and The Shed at Brighton which offers construction pre-apprenticeships to young people, West Coast Institute of Training is a true 21st century education provider that works with industry to continue to help its students 'get it right'.
WCIT also has a new multi-million state-of-the-art facility which is the main trades training campus in Perth's northern corridor. The campus provides a full suite of training programs in bricklaying, plastering, tiling, carpentry, joinery, engineering and electrical trades to more than 600 school students, apprentices and existing tradespeople. The design includes dedicated training workshops and open spaces integrating each trade in a real world environment ensuring students are exposed to different disciplines and learn to work collaboratively on projects. The Clarkson facility has embedded green practices to reduce water and waste minimisation. With wireless connectivity it also includes an eCafe for students and a centralised staff administration area providing easy access for student enquiries.
Western Australia Police Academy
The Western Australia Police Academy is a world-class training facility encompassing all that has been learned about effective policing training.
The Academy boasts state-of-the-art facilities such as a scenario-training village and court room where police officers can put classroom theory into practice with simulated real-life situations. The village features retail outlets, banking facilities, a fast food outlet, service station, housing and a police station. Modern on-site accommodation facilities and catering allows local, national and international guests the opportunity to maximise their learning environment.
In addition to the training of police recruits, the Academy also provides a wide range of both operational and management training to the broader workforce within the Western Australia Police. The world class facility attracts other government agencies, law enforcement, regulatory and emergency service organisations.

City of Joondalup
Since its establishment in 1998, the City of Joondalup has quickly become the second largest Local Government in WA with approximately 162,000 residents. Only 25 minutes north of the Perth CBD, the City is renowned for its stunning 17km of white sandy beaches and coastline and for its beautiful wildlife, natural bushland and wetlands. The Joondalup City Centre, built on the edge of Lake Joondalup, is widely recognised as the second CBD of Perth and has become the commercial, cultural and recreational hub of the North West corridor of Perth after experiencing rapid growth and development in the past decade.
Home to the Joondalup Learning Precinct, the City proudly acknowledges the support of the Precinct institutions’ work with local business, government, and commercial clients to provide education and training programs and consultancy services tailored to assist them with their business growth. Internationally, the City’s Sister City relationship with Jinan in China has provided significant benefits to JLP partners and the community with a number of cultural and commercial activities successfully established.
