ECU's Joondalup Campus, one of the university's three metropolitan campuses, is also home to the university's headquarters. Western Australia Police Academy The Western Australia Police Academy is a world-class training facility encompassing all that has been learnt about effective policing training on three continents: Australia, the United Kingdom & the United States. The Academy boasts state-of-the-art facilities such as a scenario-training village where police officers can put classroom theory into practice with simulated real-life situations. The village features retail outlets, banking facilities, a fast food outlet, service station, housing and a police station. Modern on-site accommodation facilities and catering allows local, national and international guests the opportunity to maximise their learning environment. In addition to the training of police recruits, the Academy also provides a wide range of both operational and management training to the broader workforce within the Western Australia Police Service. The world class facility attracts other government agencies, law enforcement, regulatory and emergency service organisations together with local community groups.
